Hi, I'm Mike Ganyo. I am the founder and owner of Human-Centered Change Partners: Grounded in people. Focused on results.

In this inaugural Mike on Change blog post on the HCCP website, I want to tell you a little about me and HCCP.

A little about me

Smiling man in a blue shirt sits on a beige sofa, hands clasped, with a leafy plant behind him.

I have over 25 years of experience in change management, learning and development, and knowledge management at Fortune 500 companies, as well as a lifetime of personal experience with change.

I have a master’s degree in human resource development and am a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, a Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner, a Certified Scrum Master, and a Distinguished Toastmaster!

Throughout my career, I’ve noticed that companies often take a “telling & training” approach to change. We will tell you about the change and train you, and you will change! I’ve also noticed that this approach often results in confusion, rework, and change fatigue, and rarely leads to achieving desired business results.

A little about Human-Centered Change Partners

That is why I started Human-Centered Change Partners. The purpose of HCCP is to help organizations:

  • Co-create change with people rather than doing change to them

  • Achieve better results now

  • Build lasting change capability for the future

At Human-Centered Change Partners, we believe in:

  • People over playbooks: Tools and templates can help, but change succeeds through human beings

  • Outcomes over activities: The goal isn’t to complete change management tasks. The goal is to achieve business results

  • Partnership over canned advice: I work with you in your real context, not from a one-size-fits-all approach

  • Capability over dependency: The work we do together should help your organization better navigate change going forward
